Mountain Climbing, Bamboo Rafting, and Exploring With Our Sisters

Just recently, we returned from a short trip (3 days, 2 nights) to Wu Yi Mountain. There was a wide variety of things to do there, including hiking and bamboo rafting. On the first day, we hiked up and down a super steep mountain. It was a very popular trail, and there were hundreds of people of all ages hiking alongside us. Some of the old Chinese men hiked up even faster than we did!

The trail begins here!

Almost there!

Later on that day, we went on a 1 1/2 hour long bamboo raft ride. The scenery was beautiful and we all had a lot of fun, even if we did get a little wet. We also went tea shopping in the evening. On the second day, we hiked up another mountain and also walked on a very, very narrow path in between two mountains. At some parts, the path was less than a foot wide!

It was very relaxing, and we all had lots of fun talking to each other.

Day 2 was a lot less strenuous than the first.

When we returned back to Hwa Nan, we took part in a program where we entertained the kids of Hwa Nan alumna. At first, it was a bit awkward because we didn't know how to communicate them, but as time passed, both the kids, Kennedy, and I all started having fun. We read them two children's books and then we played three different games. We only played together for a short time, but it was still enjoyable.

This was one of the games that the kids taught us. They called it "Catfish."

That same day, we also visited a historical area called Three Lanes Seven Alleys with some of our big sisters. We did a bit of shopping and also explored a museum.

We were so surprised because they were selling turtles in penguin containers!

We ate at Hwa Nan's canteen that night with our big sisters. I had some of the spiciest food ever, and it was super good!

The next day, we went shopping at a huge mall with the same big sisters. There were lots of shops, and we only covered about two floors. We all bought a lot of stuff, including me, and the total came out to be less than $7 USD! For dinner, we made over 200 dumplings with our sisters. Our big sisters were super nice and generous, and it was a joy being able to meet them.

This sign was quite interesting and it made all of us laugh.

Our dumpling making fest was a success!

I bought a bunch of cute little things and my big sister bought me ice cream and an adorable key chain with my family name on it.
